A Kitchen Tea is a tradition that has endured generations and helps a bride set up her household. Each guest brings a gift that would be used in the kitchen. Keep in mind what the couple might already have, and what level of cooks they are. A great idea is to ask all guests to bring a small gift that starts with the letter of the brides name or a guests give a cookbook/home design book. Favourite recipes from guests is also a wonderful idea which can be collected and made into a recipe book for the bride.
These days some brides are opting to have a bathroom or bedroom shower where gifts are given specifically relating to these rooms. It is entirely up to the maid of honour/bridemaids on what the theme of the shower should be.
