About Us

I am a graphic designer with over 18 years experience. After working at corporate design and print companies as Head Graphic Designer for many of those years while also freelancing with my own business Creative Intrigue, I noticed that many people, including many of my family and friends, wanted fresh, modern and affordable invitations without the very common ribbons and transparent paper overlays.

So while I was pregnant in 2005, I decided to create a range of digital invitations for children; birth announcements, thank you’s, christening and birthdays after noticing there was a market for children’s invitations. But after many people encouraging me that weddings would also expand my client market, I ventured into designing a few invitations to experiment at a small local bridal expo. After an overwhelming response, weddings have now become an integral part of the business together with increasing many other invitation event areas.

After the birth of our first daughter, Shaye Amity in March 2006, I decided to separate the invitations to the graphic design, print and web business and soon Amity Invites was launched in May 2006 so I could be a Mum to our beautiful little girl. (Amity means love and friendship so it was a great name for an invitation business.) Eight months later in January 2007, Amity Invites together with Creative Intrigue had both become successful, full time stationery and graphic design businesses and together with my husband Mark, created a website that then saw us with online ordering Australia wide.

I love being a continual part of a couples life, from their engagement to their beautiful wedding day and then onto to the birth of their first child with the announcement and christening. Setting the theme for a couples wedding day is a wonderful feeling, that we are creating special memories for them and their guests.

I am passionate about stationery and love what I do and I understand that not everyone has the time or budget to make invitations (which in the long term can become very costly if you don’t have the tools or the patience together with experience), as many people want simple, stylish and quality stationery that can be ordered quickly without the hassle.
